About the Event

The third French computational neuroscience conference, Neurocomp09, will take place in Bordeaux from the 16th to 18th September 2009. This conference is organised with the Neurocomp initiative and aims to bring together the principal French protagonists in this area, whether or not they are French speakers. Computational neuroscience studies the mechanisms of calculation that are the basis of our cognitive capacities. This approach requires the constructive integration of a number of disciplines, from the neuron to behaviour, from the life sciences to software and hardware computer simulations by means of modelling. As in the previous editions, this conference offers an exchange place in which the goal is to support interdisciplinary collaborations between teams concerned with neuroscience, informatics, statistical physics and mathematics. The selected format this year is of a conference school with the presence of a dozen invited international lecturers and presentations by young researchers of their work at poster sessions. There will also be a space set aside for demonstrations.
