Description

The Department of Molecular Neurobiology of Behavior at the University of Göttingen seeks to fill the position of a
Research Associate (Postdoc) with 100% of the regular working hours (currently 39,8 hours per week). Salary will be according to German pay grade E-13 TV-L.

We use Drosophila melanogaster to analyze neuronal circuits and synaptic plasticity underlying learning and memory formation. A variety of methods are applied, ranging from molecular biology, neurogenetics, immunehistochemsitry, multiphoton-microscopy, in vivo calcium imaging and optogenetics to behavioral analyses. We seek an excellent scientist with experience in neurobiology of Drosophila. Your Tasks: Independent and responsible conception, coordination and conductance of research projects in the field of Drosophila neurobiology with an emphasis on neuronal mechanisms of learning and memory, participation in teaching courses and in examinations in the Department „Molecular Neurobiology of Behavior“ and supervision of Bachelor, Master and PhD students. Your Profile: PhD degree in Biology, research experience in Drosophila neurobiology, very good English language abilities (knowledge of the German language is advantageous), experience in teaching and publishing, very good programming skills.
