The Department of Cell Biology and Anatomy (, and the Hotchkiss Brain Institute (HBI; invite applications for a full-time academic position (tenure track), at the Assistant Professor level at University of Calgary. The ideal candidate for this position will be a neuroscientist / cell biologist (broadly defined). We are particularly interested in candidates that use advanced microscopy and/or live cell imaging techniques. The successful candidate will be based in one of the nine “NeuroTeams” of the HBI ( Qualifications include a PhD, MD or MD/PhD and evidence of ability to develop an independent research program that will integrate with and complement one of the nine HBI NeuroTeams. The position provides 75% protected time for research, and will include expectations to contribute to undergraduate and graduate level teaching. This is an excellent opportunity to develop an independent, externally-funded research program within a highly collaborative environment.
