Description

An opening is available for a Postdoctoral Research Associate/Research Assistant in Behavioural Neuroscience to join The Translational Cognitive Neuroscience Laboratory in the Department of Psychology, University of Cambridge.

The TCN Lab, in conjunction with the laboratory of Dr. Chris Heath in the Department of Life, Health and Chemical Sciences, The Open University has recently been awarded a 3 year Project Grant by the National Centre for the Replacement, Refinement and Reduction of Animals in Research (NC3Rs) to develop and validate a series of touchscreen-based assays for the evaluation of motivation and affective state in laboratory rodents.Successful development of these assays will provide standardised, mild-severity alternative methods with which to study these constructs that also have high forward-translational potential.

The successful applicant should have a PhD in Behavioural Neuroscience or a related discipline (Research Associate) or be close to completing their PhD (Research Assistant) with experience of rodent behavioural studies and behavioural pharmacology. Experience of operant behavioural paradigms, task development/validation and/or environmental enrichment manipulations are highly desirable.
