Aims and Scope

The school is intended for advanced PhD students or postdocs in neuroscience-related fields who already have a scientific record. A total of 40 students will be accepted.

Registration and Stipends

Tuition fee: EUR 250,-, covering costs for refreshments, lunches and accommodation. Due to the generosity of the Hertie Foundation, a number of tuition fee waivers and travel stipends is available for students who need financial help for attending the school.

Topics

Development of neuronal networks; Pattern generation and modulation of networks; Sensory processing and sensory ecology; Orientation and navigation; Learning and memory. The aim of the school is to compare and contrast invertebrate and vertebrate systems and define generalities and specificities in the respective neural functions.
