The Design of Neuronal Networks: Contributions from
Invertebrates
Application Deadline: expired October 5, 2007
Aims and Scope
The school is intended for advanced PhD students or postdocs in
neuroscience-related fields who already have a scientific record. A total of
40 students will be accepted.
Registration and Stipends
Tuition fee: EUR 250,-, covering costs for refreshments, lunches and
accommodation. Due to the generosity of the Hertie Foundation, a number of
tuition fee waivers and travel stipends is available for students who need
financial help for attending the school.
Topics
Development of neuronal networks; Pattern generation and modulation of
networks; Sensory processing and sensory ecology; Orientation and navigation;
Learning and memory. The aim of the school is to compare and contrast
invertebrate and vertebrate systems and define generalities and specificities
in the respective neural functions.
