Society sponsored Abstract Slots for the SfN Annual Meeting 2011 - Call for Application

FENS is happy to announce that, again, for 2011 FENS was appointed as the unique distributor for slots for entire Europe.

For the past several years the Society for Neuroscience has provided FENS with a number of unique ID numbers (called "slots") which allowed some of the FENS members who are not also members of SfN to submit abstracts to the SfN annual meeting and register for the meeting at the member rate. The total number of slots that FENS can distribute in 2011 is 37 for Central and Eastern Europe and 382 for the Western Europe region.

As in the past, FENS will distribute these slots on a first come - first served basis, but also observing geographical distribution and the size of societies.

  • Application for a slot will be possible via the FENS website from Tuesday, April 05 through Monday, May 02, 2011.
  • Only FENS members can apply for a slot. The system will automatically check your FENS membership status
  • The slot is not transmittable i.e. the slot-holder him/herself only is entitled to submit an abstract as first author.
  • In order to be eligible for registration at the SfN member rate, you must be a slot holder und you must submit an abstract.
  • You will be required to pay a $90 abstract submission fee to SfN.
  • Submission of an abstract does not automatically register you for the meeting, you must still register and pay to attend Neuroscience 2011.

Slot application opens on April 05, 2011, 0.00 a.m. CEST

The deadline for application is May 02, 2011, 0.00 p.m. CEST

Abstract submission to SfN opens Thursday, April 21, 2011, and closes Thursday, May 12.

Please note that in the past you may have been able to register at the member rate without submitting an abstract; however, under the recent policy in order to be eligible for registration at the SfN member rate, you must submit an abstract.

We will announce the receivers of the slots shortly after the deadline and in any case before the deadline of abstract submission for the SfN meeting which is on May 12.
