About the Event

The Fifth international conference on the FUNCTIONAL ARCHITECTURE OF MEMORY (FAM) will take place November 25th to 27th 2020 at the Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology Magdeburg in Germany). The FAM conference aims at bringing new insights on today's major controversies in recognition memory by bridging human and animal memory function. Fifteen of the world-leading experts on the medial temporal lobe and memory function will discuss findings using state of art methods such as translational behavioural tasks, imaging (molecular and fMRI), Calcium imaging, in-vivo electrophysiology and computational techniques in humans and animals. Speakers: Sheena Josselyn (Sickkids Hospital, Toronto, CA); Hannah Monyer (German Research Center for Cancer Diseases/ Medical Faculty University Heidelberg, Germany); Jim Knierim (The Zanvyl Krieger Mind/Brain Institute/ Johns Hopkins University, Baltimore, USA); Loren Frank (Howard Hughes Medical Institute/ Kavli Institute for Fundamental Neuroscience, San Francisco, USA); Liset Menendez de la Prida (Instituto Cajal – CSIC, Madrid, Spain); Thomas Wolbers (DZNE; Magdeburg, Germany); John Aggleton (Cardiff University; Cardiff, UK); Emrah Duezel (DZNE, Magdeburg, Germany); Charan Ranganath (University of California; Davis , USA); Steffen Gais (Institute for Medical Psychology and Behavioural Neurobiology, Tübingen, Germany); Motoharu Yoshida (DZNE/Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology; Magdeburg, Germany); Magdalena Sauvage (Leibniz Institute for Neurobiology; Magdeburg, Germany); Jill Leutgeb (University of California San Diego; San Diego, USA); Stefan Remy (DZNE; Bonn, Germany) The conference will start by a 5 min blitz session that the audience is welcome to contribute to and a “speakers/students-only brainstorming session” takes place each day. The number of participants is limited to 100 (first-come first-served basis). Registration can be made at
