The research group on Molecular Neurobiology of Prof. Dr. Marco Rust at the Department of Physiological Chemistry is currently accepting applications for a Research Assistant (PhD student).

The position is offered for a period of 3 years. The starting date is as soon as possible. The position is part-time (65 % of regular working hours) with salary and benefits commensurate with a public service position in the state Hesse, Germany (TV-H E 13, 65 %).

By combining molecular biology, biochemistry, microscopy and mouse genetics, the third party-funded research project will investigate the regulatory mechanisms of neuronal actin dynamics and their relevance for mammalian brain development and function.

The successful applicant will hold a university degree (master or equivalent) in life sciences (e.g. biology, biochemistry, human biology) and solid knowledge in molecular biology and biochemistry. Specific expertise in modern microscopy and mouse genetics as well as a permit for conducting experiments on small laboratory animals would be beneficial.
