Description
The Department of Biology at the University of Fribourg (http://www.unifr.ch/biology/) is composed of four teaching units: Zoology, Biochemistry, Ecology and Evolution, and Plant Biology, each constituted of several research groups. The open position is located in the Zoology unit in the research laboratory of Prof. Claire Jacob. Research in the Zoology unit is focused on Neurobiology and Developmental Biology.
Description:
The Jacob’s group studies the functions of chromatin remodeling enzymes in the regeneration process of the nervous system. The successful applicant will work on this topic and will have the opportunity to use a wide range of in vivo (rodents) and in vitro techniques already established in the lab, and will contribute to the development of innovative technologies.
Profile:
- High motivation for research and eagerness to contribute to the scientific output of the lab,
- Master’s degree (or equivalent) in Life Sciences,
- Fluency in English (written and spoken),
- Good organizational and communication skills,
- Ambition to pursue a scientific career,
- Experience in handling mice (ideal, but not mandatory).
This position will be available in February 2018.
