The Movement Control & Neuroplasticity Research Group (Department of Movement Sciences, KU Leuven) invites highly dynamic and motivated candidates to apply for a PhD position to study the neuroplasticity associated with motor memory in healthy older individuals. The PhD is co-supervised by Profs. Albouy, Mantini and Swinnen and is part of the Excellence of Science (EOS) MEMODYN project funded by FRS-FNRS and FWO. The MEMODYN project regroups 5 Universities (ULB, ULiège, UGent and KULeuven and UCLondon) and aims at studying memory as a journey in the making in the context of brain maturation and ageing. The goal of the project conducted by the KU Leuven team is to characterize the age-related alteration of brain activity, connectivity and neurotransmission during motor learning and sleep-related consolidation using MRI and hD-EEG.
To be eligible to apply, you must have a Masters degree in Neurosciences, Psychology, Biomedical Sciences, Medical Imaging or Movement or Rehabilitation Sciences and Physiotherapy and have achieved excellent results during your study program (bachelor and master degrees).
