Description

Postdoctoral Fellowship: Neurobiology of Traumatic Brain Injury & Alcohol Drinking
A postdoctoral position is available to investigate the neurobiological basis for traumatic brain injury (TBI) effects on alcohol-related outcomes. This co-mentored position is available in the labs of Drs. Patricia Molina and Nick Gilpin at Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center (LSUHSC) in New Orleans. This newly funded collaborative project uses an integrative approach that combines behavioral testing, neuropharmacology, circuit-based approaches, slice electrophysiology, and anatomical, molecular biology, and biochemical techniques. The ideal candidate will have excellent teamwork skills, strong intrinsic motivation, strong letters of support, and expertise in one or more of the above listed techniques, but we are especially interested in candidates with slice electrophysiology expertise.
