Fellows awarded with a 2019 INPhINIT incoming fellowship may choose to carry out their PhD project at Institute for Neurosciences (IN, accredited with the Spanish Seal of Excellence “Severo Ochoa”. This award recognizes the IN as the most relevant brain research institute in Spain, and places it on the list of the most prominent research centers in Europe. The Institute is organized into functional research units that are flexible and serve as a framework that facilitates research activities and stimulates interaction and scientific collaboration among its members. The center stands out for its scientific impact and leadership at international level and it actively collaborates with its scientific and social environment.

It has an Excellence PhD Training Programme in Neurosciences, which provides courses and research training to graduate students in several areas of basic neurosciences. In addition, researchers establish a personal career development plan including transnational and interdisciplinary mobility opportunities, and attend a full range of complementary training courses and workshops.

INPhINIT-Incoming ( is a doctoral fellowship programme devoted to attract international Early-Stage Researchers to the top Spanish research centers. It is promoted by the la Caixa Banking Foundation (CBF), a Spanish social, non-profit organization that aims to contribute to the progress of people and society.
