Description

PhD position is available in the laboratories of Drs. Armen Saghatelyan (https://www.saghatelyanlab.com/research) and Ayman ElAli (http://www.crchudequebec.ulaval.ca/recherche/chercheurs/ayman-elali/) to study the plasticity of adult neural stem cells (NSCs), and understand how they can be used to promote structural and functional recovery after the stroke. The aim of the project is to perform minimally invasive delivery of stem cells in the post-stroke animals and to monitor NSC activity in vivo, in non-anesthetized and freely behaving animals using two-photon and endoscopic imaging, respectively. The stem cells can be also manipulated using different pharmacological tools and CRISPR-Cas9.

Our laboratories are located in the CERVO and CHUL Research Centers affiliated to Université Laval, Quebec City, a vibrant research environment bridging together neuroscience and photonics.

Interested applicants should send CV, statement of research interest and the names and contact information of 2-3 referees to Drs. Armen Saghatelyan armen.saghatelyan@fmed.ulaval.ca and Ayman ElAli ayman.el-ali@crchudequebec.ulaval.ca
