Description

A PhD position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Armen Saghatelyan (https://www.saghatelyanlab.com/research) at the CERVO Brain Research Center (https://cervo.ulaval.ca/en), Quebec City, Canada, to investigate the functional and structural changes in the olfactory bulb interneurons during odor learning and memory.

We use multidisciplinary approaches including micro-endoscopic imaging in freely behaving mice, in vivo two-photon functional (GCaMP6) and structural (cell maturation and spine dynamics) imaging, electrophysiology, stereotaxic injection of viral vectors, immunohistochemistry, as well as different behavioral tests (for selected publications Hardy et al., Scientific Reports, 2018; Malvaut et al., Current Biology, 2017; Breton-Provencher et al., Nat. Comm., 2016).

We are looking for highly motivated applicants with knowledge in two-photon imaging and/or electrophysiology (patch-clamp). The laboratory is located in the Neurophotonic Center in Quebec City (http://neurophotonics.ca/), a vibrant research environment bridging together neuroscience and photonics.

Interested applicants should send CV, statement of research interest and the names and contact information of 3 referees to Dr. Armen Saghatelyan (armen.saghatelyan@fmed.ulaval.ca ).
