Description

One post-doctoral position is available in the Dreosti group at UCL (London, UK). The candidate will undertake research into the development of the neuronal circuits of social behaviour and characterisation of nociception responses in zebrafish. The research focuses on identification of specific anatomical brain areas activated during social and nociceptive behaviour, functional characterization of neuronal populations, phenotypical identification of mutant fish, data analysis.

We are seeking a highly motivated post-doc with a post-graduate degree (PhD) in Developmental Biology/Neuroscience, System Neuroscience or a similar area. Extensive training using the zebrafish model system with a focus on the nervous system, and working knowledge in Python or MATLAB is required.


Knowledge and training in cutting edge molecular techniques (e.g. genome editing, PCR, CRISPR, immunohystochemistry), microscopy (two-photon and confocal) is preferable. The applicant should have ability to initiate experiments and to work independently, to conduct research with integrity and accountability.
