Description

The Department of Neurobiology in the School of Biology/Chemistry at the University of Osnabrück invites applications for a position of a Scientific Assistant (m/f) (Post-Doc; salary grade E 13 TV-L, 100%) starting 1st of May 2019 or later for a duration of three years.
Description of responsibilities:
• The work will be focused on the analysis of molecular mechanisms of neuronal degeneration during using live cell imaging (single molecule tracking, fluorescence decay after photoactivation) in culture models of Alzheimer’s disease (e.g., J. Cell Biol. 217:1303-18(2018); J. Biol. Chem. 293:8065-76(2018)).
• Teaching in the special field of neurobiology at an extent of 4 credit hours/week.
• The position offers the possibility for own scientific further qualification.
Required qualifications:
• Candidates are required to hold a master's degree/diploma in biology or a related discipline.
• Experimental PhD degree in biology or related subject.
Desirable qualifications:
• high motivation.
• experience in primary neuronal culture (e.g., DRG neurons) and work with rodents.
• experience in RNA-based techniques (RNA isolation, qRT-PCR, Northern blot).
• willingness to work in an international team.
