Description

We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Beirowski (https://www.buffalo.edu/hunter-james-kelly-research-institute/laboratories/Beirowski-lab.html) at the Hunter James Kelly Research Institute in Buffalo, Western New York. The Beirowski lab focuses on how glial metabolism regulates axon integrity and myelination (e.g. Beirowski et al., 2014, Nature Neuroscience 17(10); Beirowski et al., 2017, PNAS 114(21)). Potential projects encompass the development and characterization of novel mutant animal models showing compromised axon integrity in the nervous system secondary to glial abnormalities. Applicants should have demonstrated outstanding performance throughout their previous studies with their own publications. The successful candidate is a highly motivated and exceptionally organized team player with good communication skills. Strong language and writing English skills are also important.

This position is immediately available and comes with a competitive salary and full fringe benefits. Interested candidates should send their inquiries or applications (cover letter including a brief statement of research interests, CV, publication list, as well as names and contact details of 3 referees) directly to Dr. Beirowski (bogdanbe@buffalo.edu).

The Hunter James Kelly Research Institute (hjkri.buffalo.edu) is housed in the New York State Center of Excellence in Bioinformatics and Life Sciences (www.bioinformatics.buffalo.edu) on the Buffalo-Niagara Medical Campus adjacent to the Roswell Park Cancer Institute and the Hauptman-Woodward Institute, all well-funded and excellent research facilities with state of the art equipment.
