Description

The Bortolato laboratory is seeking a highly motivated and energetic research assistant interested in pursuing graduate studies to help investigate the neuromolecular bases of aggression, violence, and depression, using animal models and post-mortem brain samples. Duties will include behavioral monitoring of mice and rats, IP/SC injections, colony maintenance, genotyping, basic molecular biology tasks, and immunohistochemistry. Research in the Bortolato group is primarily focused on the characterization of the biological bases of neuropsychiatric disorders through the employment of behavioral and neurochemical approaches. The candidate will have access to a newly-renovated laboratory facility that encompasses a behavioral suite, surgical area and molecular space. Special emphasis will be given to candidates with advanced computer skills. A competitive salary and benefits package will be provided.
