Post-doctoral position in Italy

Job ID

We announce that a post-doctoral position will soon be opened at the Neurodevelopmental Research Group at the Center for Mind/Brain Sciences (CIMeC, University of Trento -, for two years. Research projects in the lab focus on how mutations in neural genes during embryonic brain development can impact autistic-like behaviors during postnatal life. We extensively studied mice lacking the homeobox-containing gene Engrailed-2, showing that these mice have GABAergic and somatosensory processing deficits (Provenzano J Neurosci 2014 PMID 25274808; Chelini et al., J. Neurosci 2019 PMID 30593497). Our current research aims to identify somatosensory processing deficits conserved across different monogenic mouse models of autism, and is part of the University of Trento Strategic Project TRAIN-Trentino Autism Initiative (
The ideal candidate would have a PhD in neuroscience or related subject, with experience in molecular, anatomical and behavioural characterization of mouse models of neurological/neuropsychiatric disorders.
Informal inquiries are most welcome to prof. Yuri Bozzi ( before July 31, 2019. The formal call for applications will soon be available here
