We are inviting applications for a postdoctoral position in the laboratory of Dr. Beirowski ( at the Hunter James Kelly Research Institute in Buffalo, Western New York. The Beirowski lab focuses on how glial metabolism regulates axon integrity and myelination (e.g. Beirowski et al., 2014, Nature Neuroscience 17(10); Beirowski et al., 2017, PNAS 114(21)). The project encompasses in vivo and in vitro mechanistic studies on how metabolic perturbations in oligodendrocytes result in compromised axon integrity in the central nervous system. Applicants should have demonstrated outstanding performance throughout their previous studies with their own publications. The successful candidate is a highly motivated and exceptionally organized team player with good communication skills. Strong language and writing English skills are also important. Please do not apply if you do not have the requested credentials, have never worked on a neuroscience project, and have no genuine interest in neurodegeneration research.
