Post-doctoral position in FONTENAY AUX ROSES/France

Job ID

Our team recruits a post-doctoral researcher interested in neurodegenerative diseases and drug screening. The team aims to understand the contribution of dysfunctional cell-cell interactions in neurodegenerative diseases including in particular Huntington’s disease. We are interested in assessing in vitro and at medium to high throughput, the synaptic activity of human neuronal network and human neuron-astrocyte interactions in wt and pathological conditions. For that, we apply a combination of state-of-the-art human pluripotent stem cell technologies, functional imaging in vitro approaches, complemented by genetic manipulation of hPSCs. The research interest of the group builds on previous work of the Team Leader; see in particular: Gribaudo et al. 2019, Charbord et al. 2013.

We are looking for a post-doctoral candidate with one or more of the following expertise: 1) strong know-how in human pluripotent stem cells neuro-glial derivatives; 2) a strong education in neurobiology and in the functional assessment of synaptic activity and/or neuron-astrocytes interactions preferably in vitro; 3) a background in high throughput screening. The ideal candidate is highly motivated and has solid knowledge in neurodegenerative diseases. Complex data analysis skills and good presentation skills are expected. The post-doc will participate in shaping a challenging collaborative project and contribute to the research output of the Perrier’s team in forms of collaborations, presentations and publications.

We are located at the MIRCen department of Francois Jacob Institute in the Fontenay-aux-Roses CEA centre (5 km south of Paris). The starting date is as soon as possible. Pre-selections are ongoing and we will conduct skype and/or on site interviews with potential candidates. Please send your application package stating your motivation in a cover letter, including a CV, list of publications and names of 2 to 3 referees in a single pdf to
