Description

Postdoc in Development and Plasticity of Mammalian Sensory Circuitry:

Seeking talented and highly motivated Ph.D. for the new laboratory of Professor Sarah Pallas at the University of Massachusetts. This NSF and DARPA funded position will provide the qualified candidate with the opportunity to gain skills across systems, cellular, and molecular neuroscience, using several mammalian species as subjects. Applicants should have a Ph.D. degree in a related field, demonstrated skill in electrophysiology, and evidence of productivity. The lab is well positioned to address long-standing questions about the interactions between sensory experience and genetic programs during development, plasticity, and evolution of visual pathways. Translational aspects involve mechanisms of visual perception, recovery from traumatic brain injury, developmental brain disorders, and optic nerve regeneration. The successful applicant would have the unique opportunity to be working in a new lab at a prominent institution with a well-established and funded investigator. See https://sites.google.com/view/pallas-lab/ for more information.

To apply, please submit a c.v., cover letter describing research accomplishments and goals, and contact information for three references to spallas@umass.edu.
