< h2 >Neuroscience Postdoc position< /h2 >< p align="justify" >The Institute of Pathophysiology of the University Medical Center Mainz is looking for a Postdoctoral Researcher (100% TVL13).< br >We investigate the physiology and molecular basis of neuronal communication. A major research focus is the analysis of the role of glutamate receptors in synaptic transmission and network activity (von Engelhardt et al., Science 2010, Khodosevich et al., Neuron 2014, Farrow et al., eLife 2015, Chen et al., Nature Communication 2018). To this end, we analyze different transgenic and knockout mouse lines using various state-of-the-art techniques including in vitro and in vivo electrophysiology, in vivo imaging, molecular biology, protein biochemistry. < br >See also: https://www.researchgate.net/profile/Jakob_von_Engelhardt< p align="justify" >The lab offers an excellent infrastructure in a unique research environment in Mainz. This includes opportunities for collaborations with research groups of the FTN of the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz and the Rhine-Main Neuroscience Networks (rmn2).< p align="justify" >The candidate should have a degree in natural sciences and a strong background in neuroscience as well as related technical skills. Experience in molecular biology is required. Successful applicants will be involved in teaching (physiology for medical students, in German). < p align="justify" >The position is initially limited to 2 years with the possibility of extension and habilitation in physiology.
