Job ID

Open postdoctoral position (2-years)

Our laboratory at the Institute of Clinical Neuroimmunology of the Ludwig Maximilians University in Munich ( ) is interested in axonal plasticity following spinal cord injury. In projects funded as part of the established excellence cluster “Munich Cluster for Systems Neurology” ( and the collaborative research centers “Assembly and function of neuronal circuits” and “checkpoints of CNS recovery” we want to study how axonal connections remodel following spinal cord injury and the effect of neuronal activity on these remodelings. We will use modern behavioral and in situ microscopy techniques in combination with genetic and viral tracing techniques to reveal axonal adaptive changes. We offer an international and dynamic atmosphere with access to state of the art laboratory facilities in the new Biomedical Building (BMC). We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral student with keen interest in neuroscience and excellent communication skills in English for a two-year open position starting as soon as possible. Experience with spinal cord injury models is a plus but not a mandatory skill.
