The CBBS-funded NeuroNetwork “CBBScircuitS - A Neuronetwork for functional analysis of the engram connectome” offers one PhD position at the Institute of Pharmacology and Toxicology for a talented, skilled, and highly motivated student of the Life Sciences.
The project will study the hippocampal circuits involved in pattern separation/completion function and their alterations by using new state-of the-art engram labelling technologies and will focus on modulation of the memory engram dynamics. Our qualification program is designed to provide PhD candidates with a cross-disciplinary understanding of nervous system function and activity-related changes in their dynamics at the level of protein synthesis, of synaptic signals, and the neural network. Our students will receive state-of-the-art training in a fascinating area of neuroscience that currently has a high demand of well-trained young researchers. Enhancing career perspectives and employability of researchers and contribution to their skills development is a core principle of our structured and individualized supervision and training PhD program. Collaborations within the CBBS (Center for Behavioral Brain Sciences) and with international groups offer a competitive and instructive environment.
Applicants with expertise in state-of-the-art techniques in Life Sciences are welcome to apply.
