We are looking for a motivated candidate to to work in Alzheimer's Disease-related project and to characterize the impact of Aβ and/or Tau pathology on cellular functions using two-photon imaging and electrophysiology. You will be working with human-based in vitro models and join a very active and well-equipped group of neuroscientists studying various aspects of neuronal function and neuroinflammation in the context of different neurological diseases. The chosen candidate will be based in the group of Professor Tarja Malm ( funded by Horizon2020 and Academy of Finland.

The candidate should have a PhD degree in Neuroscience, Molecular Biology or relevant discipline. In depth experience in in vitro modeling of neurodegeneration is expected. Experience specifically on organotypic slice cultures is an advantage. Enthusiasm and commitment will need to be coupled to attention to details and adherence to good laboratory techniques. Good knowledge of written and spoken English is essential. An ideal candidate must have a high degree of independent thought and initiative. The applicant needs to have recommendation from two previous and recent supervisors / PIs.

A person to be appointed as a postdoctoral researcher shall hold a suitable doctoral degree. Positions of postdoctoral researchers shall always be filled for a fixed term (UEF University Regulations, Section 31).
