Our multidisciplinary team has recently characterized several genetic risk factors of Alzheimer’s disease (AD) and is currently developing cell-based models to understand how they are involved in the AD process (Nat Genet (2017) 49:1373; Acta Neuropathol (2019) 138:631; Nat Genet (2019) 51:414; Acta Neuropathol (2019) 138:221). The fellow will study the role of the innate immune system in the onset and progression of AD. S/he will focus on microglia–neuron interactions and AD risk genes mainly expressed in microglia by using a range of techniques, including high-content screening, microfluidic devices, and human induced neurons.

Candidates with a Ph.D degree with a solid background in cell biology/neurobiology are encouraged to apply. A background in focal adhesion pathway and/or synaptic plasticity is desirable. Experience in primary neuron/glia cultures, iPSCs, microfluidics, or fluorescence microscopy will be considered an advantage. An excellent track record of scholarly achievements, as demonstrated by awards and authorships, is expected. Candidates must be highly motivated and able to interact effectively with team members at various levels. Proficiency in written and spoken English is required. Speaking French is not mandatory.
