Description

PhD position is available in the laboratory of Dr. Armen Saghatelyan (https://www.saghatelyanlab.com/research) at the CERVO Brain Research Center (https://cervo.ulaval.ca ), Quebec City, Canada, to study molecular and cellular mechanisms controlling neuronal migration in the postnatal mammalian brain and how these mechanisms are affected in different neurodevelopmental disorders. We will use combination of different imaging approaches to monitor and manipulate cell migration and underlying intracellular processes in the mouse brain. In addition, we will use induced pluripotent cell (iPSC) technology that makes it possible to obtain neuronal progenitor cells (NPC) from patient-derived somatic cells affected by neurodevelopmental disorders to study how mechanisms orchestrating neuronal migration are altered in these disorders.

We are looking for highly motivated applicants with a Master degree in Neuroscience or related fields. The laboratory is located in the Neurophotonic Center in Quebec City (http://neurophotonics.ca/), a vibrant research environment bridging together neuroscience and photonics.

Interested applicants should send CV, statement of research interest and the names and contact information of 2-3 referees to Dr. Armen Saghatelyan (armen.saghatelyan@fmed.ulaval.ca).
