Job ID

The Paolicelli’s lab offers one postdoc position in microglia biology, at the Department of Biomedical Sciences (DSB) at the University of Lausanne.
We are currently looking for a highly motivated and talented postdoctoral researcher to study the molecular and cellular mechanisms of microglia-mediated synapse loss in neurodegeneration.

The project will aim at identifying novel microglial pathways implicated in pathological synaptic pruning, in mouse models of neurodegeneration and motor neuron dysfunction, by using conditional knockout mouse lines for in vivo and ex vivo approaches.
This multidisciplinary research will combine behavioral analysis, single-cell RNA sequencing, flow cytometry, and imaging techniques.
Your qualifications: a strong background in neurobiology and previous experience working with mice are a must. Candidates are required to be fluent in English, written and spoken. The ideal candidate should have a proven track record of success, being passionate about the topic and able to work independently.

Expected start date: 01.05.2020
Activity rate: 100 %
The position is funded by an ERC Starting Grant for two years with the possibility of extension.

Highly motivated candidates are encouraged to apply by sending their CV, along with a motivation letter, and support letters of three references.
IMPORTANT: Only applications submitted through the official UNIL platform will be considered (link below).

Deadline: February 21st 2020
