Description

The Osterweil lab is recruiting a motivated individual to fill a Wellcome Trust funded postdoctoral position in the Centre for Discovery Brain Sciences at the University of Edinburgh. Our research is focused on understanding the mechanisms of mRNA translation that drive normal function in specific neural circuits, and investigating how disruptions in protein synthesis contribute to autism and intellectual disability. The project will use cell type-specific TRAP-seq, ribosome profiling and single-cell RNA-seq to assess changes in specific neuronal populations during learning in mutant mouse models of autism.
