Description

The Max Planck Institute of Microstructure Physics, Halle, Germany, Department of Nanophotonics, Integration, and Neural Technology, is recruiting one full-time Neuroscience Lab Coordinator to set up and operate a laboratory for neural cultures, optogenetics, and multiphoton imaging. The Lab Coordinator will also provide hands-on assistance to our research in nano-tools for measuring and controlling neuron activity and brain-machine interfaces.

We are currently building new laboratories suitable for testing nanotechnology-enabled neurotechnologies. The laboratories will be equipped with 2-photon microscopes, multi-electrode arrays, and neurobiology instruments.

Since we will conduct experiments using optogenetics and genetically-encoded calcium and voltage indicators, our neurobiology labs are classified as genetic engineering (Gentechnik) facilities. The labs are being built to meet S2 biosafety requirements.
