Job ID

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoc to research the cortical circuits responsible for multisensory decision-making and its modulation by prior experiences in behaving mice.

This project will involve state-of-the-art two-photon calcium imaging of large populations of neurons across cortical areas and cortical layers during execution of new context-dependent tasks. Optogenetic tools will be used to dissect out circuits that contribute to performance of these tasks and identify bottom-up sensory inputs and context-specific modulations. Successful applicants will design a research program focused around understanding how different cortical layers and projecting neurons contribute to perceptual decision-making.

We welcome applicants with diverse backgrounds, including, but not limited to mathematics, physics, engineering and machine learning. We are especially interested in applicants with good programming skills (Matlab, python) and experience with two-photon imaging data processing and model-based analysis. Switzerland offers a vibrant Neuroscience community with outstanding research conditions and attractive salaries.

Candidates should send their CV, at least two references and a brief cover letter describing your previous work and future goals to Sami El-Boustani:
