We are seeking a talented, highly motivated and ambitious PhD candidate with experience in one or several of the following methods: Chromatin Immunoprecipitation (ChIP), DNA-methylation assays, RT-PCR, Western-Blot, immunohistochemistry/confocal microscopy, behavioral analysis.
The aim of the project is to unravel epigenetic mechanisms underlying stress vulnerability, resilience and the transgenerational transmission of early life trauma in animal models. Our research focus is on histone modifications and DNA-methylation, affecting gene expression in developing neurons in the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus and the amygdala. The candidate will join a dynamic team, which is part of a German-Israeli research consortium.
Conditions of employment: university degree (Master/Diploma) in biology, neuroscience, biochemistry, psychology or related.
We expect: high motivation, efficacy, excellent organizational and communication skills; team player and independent, scientific thinker, high motivation to participate in interdisciplinary collaborative projects; to publish in international, peer reviewed journals; advanced to proficient level of English language.
