One pre and one postdoctoral position is available in the Research group Molecular Psychiatry in Erlangen to investigate molecular mechanisms that drive plasticity of neurotransmission at central synapses. The new projects build on our recently published work (Heck et al., Neuron, 2019 and Ivanova et al., Cell Reports, 2020) and should focus on the functional regulation of presynaptic voltage-gated calcium channels and on coupling of endo- and exocytic processes at presynapse.
We offer exciting research projects, stimulating, international work environment in well-funded and equipped department within multi-disciplinary academic location in Erlangen, “the smallest big city” of Bavaria. The successful candidate will be self-motivated, ambitious and enthusiastic young neuroscientists or biologists with solid background in cellular or molecular neuroscience and willingness to actively contribute to the development of his/her research. For postdoctoral researcher expertise in electrophysiology or live cell imaging is required, a development of an independent research as well as promotion of a further academic qualification (“Habilitation”) will be highly encouraged. The predoctoral researcher will enroll in the local graduate school providing a large range of scientific and soft-skill training.
