Tenure Track Assistant Professor of Biological Neurochemistry

We are looking for PhDs who plan to develop/apply novel chemical biology and/or medicinal chemistry methods to tackle important neuroscience questions. The ideal candidate is a neuroscientist who has studied (bio)chemistry and uses chemical biology and biochemical approaches to study molecular mechanisms underlying neurodegenerative or neurological diseases.

You will be appointed in the Department of Molecular Neurobiology at the Donders Centre for Neuroscience (DCN), a top research institute in the Faculty of Science at Radboud University and part of the world-renowned Donders Institute for Brain, Cognition and Behaviour. You will lead an independent research group, which includes establishing and maintaining an internationally competitive research program, funding acquisition, and guidance of PhD students and scientific staff. Your will be teaching in the Master specialisations Medicinal Chemistry, Chemistry of Life, and Neurobiology.

We ask:
-Experience with acquiring external funding.
-A publication record in top-ranked scientific journals.
-Experience with supervising and teaching (under)graduate students.
-Willingness to acquire the University Teaching Qualification.

We offer:
-Employment: 32-40 hours per week.
-Max. gross monthly salary: € 4,978, with 8% holiday allowance and 8.3% end-of-year bonus.
-You will be employed as Assistant Professor level 2 for six years. Following positive evaluation you will be appointed as Assistant Professor level 1 on a permanent contract.
