Description

POST-DOC POSITION IN BEHAVIORAL NEUROPHYSIOLOGY
------------------------

We are seeking candidates for Post-Doctoral positions at the Department of Physiology and Pharmacology (SAPIENZA, University of Rome, Italy), in the laboratory led by Prof. Alexandra Battaglia-Mayer.

The project, funded by MIUR (PRIN, Italy), is aimed at understanding the neural bases of the ability to control and coordinate our movements when interacting with other subjects in a social context, as well as the decision-making processes, that guides the inter-individual action coordination on the basis of its economic value.
The neural mechanisms will be studied by making use of different recording techniques, from single unit and Local Field Potentials recordings on behaving monkeys, trained to execute complex cognitive tasks, to EEG recording performed both in humans and non-human primates.
Ideal candidates must have a PhD in Neuroscience or a related field, expertise in neural data analysis (single-unit, multi-unit, LFPs and/or EEG), competence in Matlab programming and interest in the research topic.

The starting date for these positions is flexible. Initially for one year, the positions can be extended for a second year. Salary depends on experience and is based on SAPIENZA regulations.

To have detailed information about the project and application procedures, prospective candidates are invited to contact Prof. Alexandra Battaglia-Mayer (alexandra.battagliamayer@uniroma1.it ), by sending a CV, the contact information of two referees, a brief statement describing personal qualifications and research interests.
