Our research focuses on understanding the impact of developmental processes on the vulnerability and resilience to neuropsychiatric and neurodegenerative disease. We employ animal models and patient-derived induced pluripotent stem cells (hiPSC) to model the interaction of developmental processes and disease states by using state-of-the-art approaches in genomics, molecular & cell biology, biochemistry, electrophysiology, biophysics, animal behavior, and imaging for analysis. The doctoral researcher will be part of the DFG-Research Training Group 2162, which offers a structured, international PhD program in basic and translational neurobiology.
