Description
A 3 years-long postdoc position is available in our team in Marseille to study the function of the cortico-striatal axis in the context of foraging (exploration/exploitation, vigor, sensory-guided navigation).
The project will combine the development of a naturalistic behavioral framework (based on open-science/reproducible tools) to study motor control and decision making, and manipulations of striatal sub-circuits during behavior (deeplabcut-live). The working hypothesis of the project is at the intersection of a theoretical model by the Timothy Versynen group (https://bit.ly/35TtM2l), and our recent work on striatum and movement cost (https://t.co/Ije9IG7H5c?amp=1).
The main requirement is being passionate about science. Knowledge of (or will to learn) hardware control for behavioral experiments and/or optogenetics in behaving mice would be a big plus.

Marseille is a fun city to live in and the lab is located at the entrance of one of the most spectacular natural sites in Europe: The Calanques National park (great for hiking, rock climbing, and free-water diving/swimming).
Formal application (CV, short research statement, 2 references) or questions to david.robbe@inserm.fr.
Earliest starting date: 1st of April 2021. The position will remain open until filled. Starting date flexible.
