Post-doctoral position in Tübingen/Germany

The Department of Neurophysiology, Institute of Physiology of the Eberhard Karls University Tuebingen is offering

a postdoc position for two years (with the possibility of an extension), TVL-L 13, 100 %, starting from 01.04.2021.

A PhD in Biology/Medicine or a related discipline is required. Deep knowledge of Molecular Biology (ELISA, RNA-Seq, design/production of viruses, etc.) and/or (in vivo) calcium imaging including the corresponding analysis methods (Matlab) wuld be appreciated.

The candidate is expected to work independently within the framework of institute’s major research fields, including:

- Analysis of the interaction between the nervous and the immune systems of the brain
- Characterization of microglial turnover, priming and senescence
- In vivo analysis of signal processing in the olfactory bulb
- Mechanisms of integration of adult stem cells in preexisting neural networks
- Normal brain aging and Alzheimer’s disease

Furthermore, the candidate is invited to contribute to the teaching in physiology, as well as to courses of the “Graduate School of Cellular & Molecular Neuroscience” and/or of the PhD program “Experimental Medicine”.
