28 October, 2020 in FENS News

Applications open for its first on-site course in 2021: Optogenetics, chemogenetics and biosensors for cellular and circuit neuroscience. Application deadline: 23 November 2020. Stipends available.
The CAJAL programme has open applications for its first on-site course in 2021: Optogenetics, chemogenetics and biosensors for cellular and circuit neuroscience.
Organised by Ofer Yizhar (Weizmann Institute of Science), Michael Lin (Stanford University), Anna Beyeler (University of Bordeaux) and Simon Wiegert (University Medical Center Hamburg-Eppendorf), the course will be held on 8-26 March 2021 at the Bordeaux School of Neuroscience, France.
It will provide participants with the opportunity to gain hands-on experience using the latest genetically encoded tools and state-of-the-art equipment for brain circuit investigation. A particular focus will lie on multiplexed manipulations and read-out of brain circuits. Participants will be familiarized with the biophysical principles behind the sensors and actuators, and given training complementary to their background in the technical aspects of experimental approaches.
