Description:
We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic PhD candidate to join our research team at the Institute of Medical Psychology and Behavioral Neurobiology (Prof. Jan Born, University of Tübingen, Germany) in the field of sleep and memory research. The project will involve studying the neural mechanisms underlying synaptic plasticity during sleep, using in vivo two-photon imaging in mice.
Responsibilities:
- Conducting experiments on mice, including surgeries and in vivo two-photon imaging of neural activity during sleep.
- Data analysis.
- Presenting research findings at conferences and publishing research papers in academic journals.
- Collaborating with other researchers in the lab.
Qualifications:
- A Master’s degree in Psychology, Biology, Neuroscience or a related field.
- Fluency in oral and written English.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
- A passion for neuroscience and a high motivation to conduct experiments.
- Experience in in vivo imaging techniques and/or data analysis using MATLAB or Python is a plus.
