Our laboratory hosts a multidisciplinary team working on the neurobiology of reward/aversion processing and addiction We currently develop microscale (optogenetics / chemogenetics / fiberphotometry /behavior) and mesoscale (rodent MRI) analysis of the brain under drugs to understand circuit mechanisms underlying the development of drug abuse and mood disorders (see https://pubmed.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/?term=kieffer+b+l&sort=date&size=20).

We wish to recruit an outstanding junior scientist to develop an independent project in line with our interests. The selected candidate will benefit from a starting package, and will be supported to apply for complementary funding and for a tenured position at the CNRS, INSERM or University of Strasbourg. She/He will have access to state-of-the-art facilities (molecular and cellular biology, microscopy, neuroimaging, behavior) in a novel Research Institute (Research Center for Biomedicine). Laboratory and office space will be provided.

Applicants should be dynamic and early-career neuroscientists, with the potential to develop an innovative research program, in interaction with our current projects. Candidates must meet criteria to compete for national and international research funding and for french institutional research and/or teaching positions (CNRS, INSERM, University). Applicants should have excellent training background and publication track record, be preferentially within the first 10 years following PhD defense and already have a first author postdoctoral publication. Researchers holding a permanent position in France are welcome to apply.
