PhD position in neuroepigenetics
Position: Ph.D. Student
Deadline: 1 November 2021
Contract Length: 3-4 years
Department: Brain Mind Institute
We are looking for a highly motivated PhD student to join our lab of Neuroepigenetics at EPFL! In this project, we will be deciphering the epigenetic mechanisms of memory decline in Alzheimer’s disease. Specifically, we hypothesize that epigenetic marks can serve as readouts of past neurotoxic insults, and that such epigenetic clocks can be used as biomarkers with retrospective and prospective potential. We will be using mouse preclinical as well as human post-mortem brain samples. Your background is ideally situated at the crossroads of molecular/epigenetic biology and bioinformatics, complemented with past experience and/or a strong interest in neurodegenerative disorders.
The starting date for this position is spring 2022.
If you are interested, please apply through the doctoral school in neurosciences at EPFL (EDNE): https://www.epfl.ch/education/phd/edne-neuroscience/.
