Description:

The DFG – funded research unit Syntophagy “Membrane trafficking processes underlying presynaptic proteostasis” (5228)seeks two highly motivated

PhD students/doctoral students (f/m/d)

About the project: We will address the specific contribution of autophagy to presynaptic proteostasis with emphases on the question how is presynaptic function and plasticity regulated by autophagy. We will investigate non-canonical functions of autophagosomes in signalling and its impact on presynaptic development, maintenance and function. The two participating labs in Hamburg and Magdeburg cover a broad range of techniques and are at the technological forefront in molecular neuroscience research (see www.kreutzlab.com and www.syntophagy.de).
