Study of cerebello-limbic pathways

Position: Post-doctoral Position

Deadline: 10 June 2022

Employment Start Date: 1 September 2022

Contract Length: 2 years

City: Paris

Country: France

Institution: Institut de Biologie de l'Ecole Normale Supérieure

Department: Neurophysiology of Brain Circuits Team

Description:

Emotional disorders are a major health issue. The recent recognition of the function of the cerebellum in the regulation of emotions opens new avenues for fundamental and translational research. Our team, located in the heart of Paris, offers an exceptional research environment to study this topic.

A 2-years postdoctoral position starting September 2022 is available @NBC_ParisENS (team hosted at Institut de Biologie de l’Ecole Normale Supérieure in Paris) to investigate neural pathways that anatomically and functionally link the cerebellum with limbic areas and their contribution to emotional learning. Methods in emotional learning behavior, anatomy and massively parallel in vivo electrophysiological recordings coupled with opto/chemo-genetics in limbic areas in behaving animals will be used. Previous experience in in vivo electrophysiology and data analysis will be welcome.

Interested candidates should apply by submitting their CV, a cover letter detailing their research experience and scientific interests along with contact information for 3 references. Deadline: June 10th 2022. Applications can be emailed to daniela.popa@ens.fr
