Description:

A Ph.D. student position is open in the Laboratory for Neurobiology of Social Behavior at the Neurobiology Department of the University of Haifa, Israel. We are looking for a highly motivated candidate who will explore social-emotional states in rodents and their neurobiological basis. In particular, the student will use multiple systems for recording diverse types of signals, including sensors implanted in the investigated animals. The project involves a variety of measurements, including brain electrophysiology, sniffing, vocalization and body temperature, all conducted simultaneously in behaving animals. The work also includes the analysis of large sets of multidimensional data using MATLAB or Python. We are looking for an exceptional candidate who is interested in utilizing a multi-disciplinary approach to investigate a fundamental problem in modern neurobiology. A previous background in electrophysiology, engineering, complex animal surgeries, computer programming or machine learning applications is highly desirable.
