Description:

The Manahan-Vaughan lab of the Ruhr University Bochum, hosts a vibrant and talented team of neuroscientists from a variety of scientific backgrounds that implement multidisciplinary approaches to understanding the mechanisms underlying memory. A postdoctoral position is currently available for a candidate that has a strong background in the area of neural data analysis.  Focus will be on analysis of information transfer and memory.The position will be funded at the level of E13 (german salary system). The candidate should also support analysis strategies of the team in the area of single-unit and multi-site analysis of electrophysiological recordings from rodents during learning.  Teaching neurophysiology within the Medical Curriculum of the Ruhr University is supported and encouraged. Experience with  electrophysiological signal analysis  is required. Competence in german is preferred. Other facets: degree in neuroscience, physics, engineering or related area; competence in quantitative data analysis or mathematical modelling; programming skills; research background in the abovementioned focus area.
