We are looking to hire a motivated postdoctoral fellow in our laboratory to work on funded projects investigating the crosstalk between the circadian clock and homeostatic plasticity in mood disorders.
Our research is focused on the cellular and molecular mechanisms mediating the rapid antidepressant effects of sleep deprivatiaon and ketamine and the role of glutamatergic signalling (Serchov et al., Neuron, 2015; Holz et al., Neuron, 2019). Our current interests are the involvement of molecular circadian clock in mood disorders and antidepressant treatmnets.
Activities: To tackle these important questions, we use a combination of in vivo electrophysiology (EEG/LFP), calcium imaging (fiber photometry), molecular biology methods and complex behavioral analyses.
Skills: The successful candidate must have PhD in life science, (Neuroscience or equivalent), excellent English communication skills and previous EU/France recognized certified experience with stereotactic surgeries in rodents (virus injections, canula/electrode implantation. Expertise in behavioral paradigms, fiber photometry, EEG/LFP recordings and analyses, MathLab (or similar) is an important advantage.
Work context: Our laboratory belongs to the Institute for Cellular and Integrative Neurosciences, in Strasbourg, France. It is an international team closelly collaborating with the Sleep Research Center (CIRCSom) at University Hospital Strasburg and the Psychiatry Uniklink Freiburg in Germany.
