FENS News, Neuroscience News
Have you ever dreamed of going abroad to conduct neuroscience research? Do you feel like working in a lab in a foreign country would be exactly the boost that your career needs?
Well then, you’ll be excited to hear that FENS and the Pan-Europe Regional Committee of the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO-PERC) recently opened applications for the October 2025 round of the FENS/IBRO-PERC Exchange Fellowships Programme!
Intended as financial support for early career neuroscientists who want to conduct research and enhance their training in another European country, the Exchange Fellowship Grants cover your travel expenses and housing for a stay of no less than four weeks, and no more than four months. Master’s students, PhD students, and early postdoctoral fellows are all eligible to apply.
To find out more about the programme, we spoke to three Exchange Fellowship Grant Awardees in our latest podcast episode for FENS Voices. They told us about their expectations going into the exchange, shared some of the highlights from their time abroad and tips for future applicants, and explained how the programmed helped them launch a career in brain research.
Whether this is the first time you’ve heard of the programme or you’re already busy preparing your application, we invite you to tune in and find out more about the programme from those who’ve lived the experience first hand.
