National level

FENS engages with policy-makers through its member societies, who identify and act on the specific national needs for neuroscience advocacy. FENS is committed to engaging member societies in an efficient dialogue and supports them whenever relevant.

European level

Under the umbrella of the European Brain Council (EBC), FENS, together with other member organisations, interacts with the European institutions and provides expertise and recommendations as a representative of European neuroscience as a whole.

Through its membership with EBC, FENS supports the European Brain Research Area (EBRA) project which aims to consolidate and facilitate collaboration in the European brain research landscape.

Global level

FENS works with other world-leading organisations to raise public awareness and to promote investment and cohesion in neuroscience research. In this context, FENS provides support for advocacy and outreach programmes across the globe.

As a partner in the International Brain Research Organization (IBRO), FENS contributes to the Global Engagement Initiative. This partnership allows best practices and shared experiences to be exchanged between different world regions.
